Standard dyed window tint blocks light but does very little to block heat — which is why it fades to purple in two summers in Southern Oregon. Ceramic window film uses microscopic ceramic particles to reject infrared heat without blocking visibility, GPS, cell, or remote signals. The difference inside a car parked outside in 100°F Medford heat is dramatic, and the film never fades because the color is in the ceramic itself, not a dye.
In Oregon, passenger vehicles must allow at least 35% VLT (visible light transmission) on the driver and front passenger windows, and at least 70% on the windshield (an 8-inch visor strip is the exception). Rear side windows and the back glass can be any darkness on SUVs, trucks, and vans, and any darkness on sedans as long as you have side mirrors. We will not install illegal tint on a front side window — getting pulled over for tint is a fix-it ticket no one wants. We walk every customer through the law during the consultation.

All windows on a full-vehicle install use the same shade so the vehicle looks factory.
