Why Every New Tesla Needs PPF on Delivery Day

There is no manufacturer that benefits more from PPF — and no manufacturer whose owners regret skipping it more often — than Tesla. After hundreds of Tesla PPF installs, this is what we tell every Model 3, Y, S, X and Cybertruck owner who asks.

Tesla paint really is thinner

Tesla uses a water-based, low-VOC paint process at Fremont, Shanghai, Berlin and Austin. It is environmentally responsible but it is measurably thinner than the solvent-based paint used on most German and Japanese cars. Owners routinely report rock chips on the hood, frunk and rocker panels within the first 30 days of ownership.

Why repainting a Tesla is painful

Tesla body shops are scarce, especially outside major metros. Wait times of 3–6 weeks are common in Oregon. The repaint will rarely match factory perfectly, and the panel value at trade-in drops. Pre-delivery PPF eliminates the entire problem.

The delivery-day install

We coordinate with Tesla delivery for clients who want the car wrapped before they drive it home. The car arrives at our Medford studio directly from the delivery center, we install Full Front PPF and rockers in 1–2 days, and you take delivery of a fully protected car. No bug splatter, no rock chips, no swirl marks from the first wash — locked-in factory paint.

What to install on a Tesla

At minimum: Full Front PPF (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, headlights) plus rocker panel protection — Model 3 and Model Y rockers chip catastrophically from rear-wheel tire debris. Cybertruck and Model X owners often go Full Vehicle. We walk every Tesla client through the decision in person.
